THIS IS OKAY! Read on to find out why: As we recruiters, we all know this feeling and no one wants this to happen. Not the Agency, not you and not the candidate. So why did it happen and what can you do about it?
First of all, let's make sure your candidate is qualified. If they were rejected because they were not qualified, please read this article here: Simple Process of Healthcare Recruiting
If your candidate has done the skills test, references are completed and your candidate got rejected because the job was closed or the client chose someone else the # 1 thing you can do is stay in contact with your candidate and let's get them submitted to a new position ASAP. This is a hot candidate and what is known in the staffing industry as a redirect!
We need your help to find your hot candidate another job and submit them ASAP. Preferrablly to at least 3 to 5 other jobs. This will increase your chances of a placement dramatically. Do not give up at this point.
Many of the top recruiters in the industry have a pipeline of 30 to 50 candidates that they are working as redirects - they make 90% of their placements from this simple trick!
Redirect candidates can score a contract quickly because they are ready to be submitted right now. They have their testing done, references completed, qualified by the contracts manager and so on.
We need you to work closely with your candidate and when the new jobs open up, go over them with your candidate and submit them quickly!
In a perfect world, you want your candidate to tell you they will go anywhere they are needed. For example, these are travel contracts. Will your candidate agree to be submitted to any job in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma that they are qualified for? Or, do they only want to work in Dallas, Texas? The broader area they are willing to work the more job opportunities they will get.
Who applies for one job and then sits back hoping they get it? No one and this is no different. You want your candidate to be okay with you redirecting them to other opportunities ASAP.
Redirect, Rebound, Resubmit - whatever you call it...if your qualified candidate falls into this classification - work with them very closely you are so close to a contract!
